Photo Essay

This photo essay is called "Winter's Snowy Bite," and it expresses the main reason of why I moved south for college. The man in the first picture, Dennis Hayes, looks absolutely miserable with his frosty beard and basically frozen glasses. I really like the third picture with the sign really big in front and the cars really tiny and far away trying to drive in the snow and fog. The only picture in which the snow does not look really terrible is in the sixth picture, where the frost is pretty on the fence, and the house looks really warm in the background. I just don't understand how some people love the cold weather that much to endure blizzards and ice storms that can occur weekly or daily. Don't you think people would get tired of that?

That was an adorable photo essay. I don't think that the captions detracted from the photos, at all. My favorite picture was the one of the snow-covered flamingos. The "contrast" was amusing.

As for people living up north and getting tired of winter conditions, you'd be surprised at how much most Northerners love the climate in which they live. My family is from Northern Michigan, and most of them are still there. The only real complaints I have heard involve shoveling snow. Other than that, most learn to drive safely in the snowy, icy conditions. Also, you would be AMAZED at the variety of scarves, vests, coats, hats, gloves, galoshes, etc. that any given Northerner owns to bundle up... in style. Living up north is very doable.

Generally, living up north is either something one loves or hates. There is not a whole lot of in-between....

I really enjoyed looking at these photos as well. My favorite one was the one with the icy fence. It just has a very artistic feel to it with how the photo was taken, and you really get the feeling of the cold.

I was born in south carolina. Most of my life though, I lived in Colorado. Which I love so much more than here because of the weather and because its beautiful there. I love cold weather, especially the snow.Theres just something about it that I love so much. I would so much rather live somewhere where it snowed all the time rather than being hot all the time. I do agree with it being said that you either love or hate cold weather,I guess it depends on who you are.
